No one was injured this morning when the minivan belonging to the Men’s Christian Recovery Home caught fire just after entering I-5 Freeway northbound at Anaheim Boulevard in Anaheim around 9:30 am. Other drivers warned the van’s occupants that there were flames under the vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Rob Lenzini.
The van pulled over to the right shoulder and the vehicle burst into flames. The two occupants exited the van then climbed the fence to escape the blaze. After the fire department arrived the two men climbed back to the freeway side of the fence.
The on-ramp was closed until about 10:00 am for clean-up of the scene.
